Thanksgiving kicks off the holiday shopping season, and in recent history retail stores have created a whole line of shopping holidays. “Black Friday” is the day after Thanksgiving where stores supposedly offer deep discounts, although now we know that is changing. “Small Business Saturday” encourages people to shop at local businesses. “Cyber Monday” marks a day of discounts online the first Monday people go back to work where they typically have faster internet connections than at home leading to fast and cheap shopping (only on your breaks, though, right?). But have you heard of “Giving Tuesday“?
Giving Tuesday happens the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and is a day on which everyone is encouraged to make donations to non-profit organizations. PTDT encourages donations on Giving Tuesday or any time of year. Your support helps provide the Davis and Sacramento communities with important programs. We offer free classes for people with Parkinsons in our Dance for Parkinsons classes and for seniors in our Second Wind program. Donations also help support the KORE program, classes for school children that incorporate the arts into language and science lessons.
Support the Pamela Trokanski Dance Theatre by making a tax-deductible donation on our PayPal page or by mailing checks to the Dance Workshop. Individual donors are recognized in concert programs, unless the donor would like to remain anonymous.
