Big Day of Giving is the Sacramento Region’s 24 hour online giving event on May 2nd and PTDT is honored to participate for the 5th year! Not just any organization can participate. All of the 600+ organizations participating this year had to meet strict criteria. We are all non-profits, serve the greater Sacramento area (that includes Davis!), and we’ve had to submit several years’ worth of tax information and financial documents to show our donors where their money goes.
Last year, we raised over $9,000! Here’s what we’ve accomplished this year with your support:
Dance in Concert:
Darkness Into Light (Fall Concert)
Ephemera & the Little Prince (our holiday tradition)
Three Parts Invention / One Part ? (Spring Concert)
Dance & Education:
Davis Dance Project: Art in 4 Dimensions – brought together artists working in a variety of media to explore commonalities in art (funded in part by the City of Davis’ Arts Grants AND your donations!)
Summer camp Moving Words: the Duet of Writing & Dance teaches reading & writing through dance and visual arts
Dance in Public Places:
We bring dance to people who wouldn’t necessarily seek it out by performing at public festivals and gatherings such as:
Movies in the Park
Arbor Day Festival
Dance & Wellness:
Second Wind – free classes for people 65+ – 77 additional classes this year for a total of 429 this year and over 10,000 since 1994
Dance for Parkinson’s Disease (in partnership with the Mondavi Art Center) has offered 396 classes – 106 more than last year!
Give on May 2nd!
Help us continue to make a difference in our community. Making a donation on May 2nd, Big Day of Giving, is easy! Donate online at
https://www.bigdayofgiving.org/ptdt or bring a check or cash to the office at the Pamela Trokanski Dance Workshop at 2720 Del Rio Place in Davis.
Why give on May 2nd? Online donations make us eligible to win additional donations from program partners. The PTDT Board of Directors will match donations made on or before May 2nd up to a total of $1150.
